In the southern part of the island, dominates imposingly the old capital of the island, the picturesque village of Theologos. Houses with traditional architecture, cafes with old men willing to tell old stories, the stone bridge, the water mill, the church with the famous temple of Saint Dimitrios, the folklore museum, and rich natural beauty, satisfy even the most demanding visitor who wants everything!

Of course…we must not forget the taverns with the delicious goat, known throughout the island! Do not omit to walk the narrow cobblestone streets of the village and look for the traditional flavours of Thasos, the renowned spoon sweets; walnut and fig! It is worth attending the revival of the Thasian wedding, a special celebration for the village, which usually takes place on the 15th of August.
